Peeves
Why do they call pet peeves, pet peeves? Is that because they are our favorite things to hate? In any case, here are a few of mine in no particular order:
The indiscriminant use of ampersands.
Soggy kitchen rags or sponges left in the sink.
Jeopardy players who begin a new catagory by jumping to the bottom or near-bottom.
Drivers on their mobile phones.
Two spaces between a period and the first letter in the following sentence. Stop it, stop it!
OK, maybe that last one is the worst offender. People, two spaces between sentences is a holdover from the typewriter days. STOP IT!
